Mysticism today – Dialogue between traditional and evolutionary spirituality
Thomas Hübl and his team are organizing the Celebrate Life Festival for the 8th time with over 1000 participants in Oberlethe close to Oldenburg. This year the topic of the non-profit festival is . “Mysticism”. “We want to look at the market place 2011 and investigate what contemporary mysticism looks like beyond the traditional image of God, and how we can combine the power of the tradition with the evolution of life”, says Thomas Hübl, who will give a workshop on this topic over a whole day on the 3rd August.
On the way towards global sprituality
Core questions of this years festival are: And how does a spiritual longing, a longing for God, even look like in the 21st century? What part do traditions still play in a global consciousness? How do evolutionary and traditional spirituality impregnate another? And how do we perceive the potentials and limitations?
The international speakers will span a global bridge from the wisdom of our spiritual inheritance to the latest consciousness research.
The Zen Masters Niklaus Brantschen and Pia Gyger from the Lasalle Institute will motivate, due to their spiritual bilinguialism (Zen and Christian Mysticism) to “understand oneself better and how to shape the world in her development.”
Shahabuddin David Less has devoted his entire life to the propagation of love and harmony amongst people of all faiths and on spiritual paths, and renders worldwide peace work. He teaches a.o. Sufism, spiritual dances and meditations.
The Tradition of Judaism: Michael Laitman, president of the Bnei Baruch Kabbalah educational and research centre in Tel Aviv, will introduce the wisdom of the authentic Kabbalah.
Representatives of the evolutionary spirituality are e.g. Andrew Cohen, Diane Musho Hamilton and Ken Wilber (via telefon hook-up), who all collaborate at the recently established Center for World Spirituality. Here they are developing a new understanding of the spiritual path, where in the center stands a fundamental reorientation from being to becoming, of timeless transcendence to conscious evolution.
